As a photographer, I'm constantly flying all over the country. I'm always on the look out for new travel pieces that keeps my things organized, but also feels like it fits in my style. I wanted to create a small pouch I could easily keep all my jewelry in, without taking up too much space in my suitcase.
supplies:
leather piece
Crop-a-Dile
embroidery thread
scissors
Begin with a piece of leather 8x14 inch.
Fold the leather over creating a pouch. With the Crop-a-Dile, punch holes all along the hem edge through both layers of the fold, making them line up perfectly.
Next, thread the sides together with embroidery thread. I used multiple different muted colors for a bohemian vibe.
Once the sides are threaded together. Cut the flap of the pouch in a curved pattern for a unique look.
Take six strands of embroidery thread and braid them together, two pieces of embroidery thread for each section of the braid.
Punch a hole in the top of the flap. Tie a knot at the end of the threads, pull through the hole at the top of the flap, and tie a knot at the end of the other of the braid.
Easy as that! Enjoy!
Love this and your style! Great post!

ReplyDeleteI love this. And you're right -- it's so hard to find little carrying cases/pouches/etc. that aren't all plastic-y, or bright colored. Eep!
