Something sweet + simple for your walls to own. enjoy..
Supplies: Canvas, needle, embroidery thread, pencil.
Begin by lightly tracing an outline you want to create. Then, stitch along the pattern. I made stars, X's, triangles, zig zags, etc. Try adding a phrase or word in the middle of the canvas. I chose lyrics from a Mumford & Sons song. (song is below)
This project was surprisingly easy. A bit time consuming but well worth the effort. If you tackle this project, I would love to see the outcome.
Hope your day is going quite swell.
this would be the perfect project for when you need to blow off some steam. I find that when I'm in a tizzy or when I have had a bad day, hand sewing is so cathartic. It nurses my mind back to normalcy.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful and also a lovely quote I love mumford and sons<3

I made one of these before and it really hurt my fingers to punch the needle through the canvas. Did you have that problem? Mine wasn't nearly as detailed as your either.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable project--it came out awesome! I can't wait to try this out.

Oh my...this is gorgeous! :) Love that you just stitched it on the mounted canvas, too - saves the un-fun task of trying to wrangle fabric into a frame or hoop...and how cool is your pattern?? Love!
ReplyDeleteI love this. I've really been looking for a way to incorporate some of the beautiful Mumford and Sons lyrics into life.

Hi Kinsey, I've been following your blog for a while now and I LOVE it. Every single one of your posts is gorgeous. That sounds weird to say.. but I mean like the pictures and everything is very appealing and nice to look at. Anyways I was wondering what the program or website you use to add text to your photos is. If you'd rather not share that's completely fine. Seriously I totally understand, I just thought I'd ask just in case you didn't mind. But the more I think about it the more I realize that that's kind of a really annoying question so seriously feel free to disregard if you don't want to say.
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't mind to share! I just use Photoshop! :)
DeleteWow, very good post, it's really simple for making and looking so beautiful, i like this post, keep it up.
