I used to make these little rings for gifts all the time back in high school. They only take a few minutes and can be as simple or as unique as you like. Take a look..
Supplies: Wire, large beads, jewelry pliers, and a wooden rod the same size as your ring size.
1. Pull the wire through the bead. Wrap the wire around each other on the top of the bead, creating an X. 2. Next, wrap both ends around the rod, intertwining them as you wrap, creating the ring band. 3. With the extra wire, wrap around the base of the bead twice, creating a sturdy foundation for the bead. 4. Lastly, wrap the ends around the band 3-5 times and cut off the excess. Make sure the ends are firmly pressed into the band with the jewelry pliers, so as not to poke you when you're wearing it.
I'm off to have a blog meeting with a sweet pal of mine. She's planning on launching her blog in just a few days and I couldn't be more excited for her. Hope your Saturday is going swell, sweet friends.

ReplyDeleteThis is great, I'm a real advocate of the craft project side of DIY. It doesn't always take a man, a shed and a tool kit to get something creative done around the home! Keep up the good work and great blog!
