It's no secret that I love a good denim top. I've collected quite a few over the warmer months, and I'm looking forward to transitioning them into my fall wardrobe. I created my first denim top project here for the summer and wanted to create a different look for fall. For this project, I replaced the back of the top with a thrifted, crocheted blanket. This look adds a bit of warmth to the top, plus fits right in with the season with its warm colors. Another great substitute for the blanket could be a thin rug or place mat with a pretty textile.
Supplies: Denim top, can have sleeves or be sleeveless. crocheted blanket, or some other type of thick material.
Pantry Supplies: Scissors, sewing pins, needle and thread or sewing machine.
Begin by cutting out the back of the top. Most are sewn together by sections, making it easy to cut out the back. If not, simply measure the section you would like to remove. Next, pin the blanket/fabric in place of the section you just removed. Tip* To make sure your new back is the same size as the section you just removed, pin the top of the blanket/fabric to the neckline to prevent it from bunching. Once it's pinned correctly, sew it together. Lastly, cut off the excess blanket/fabric from the inside of the top.
I think I've found that fashion related projects are my favorite kind of all, especially during the current season. What fall projects have you been creating?
Denim isn't usually my thing, but this is super adorable! Love it :)

I love your creativity! So jealous haha :p My favorite kind of projects are usually re-furnishing old furniture and bringing them back to life. Kind of a rewarding feeling in the end.
