We've all seen this trend floating around the web or on the shelves at our favorite shops. I don't know about your wallet, but mine isn't always too happy to pay $80.00 for a pair of boots. I wanted to create an affordable pair and came up with these for a total of $25.00, which is a-okay with me. Here's what I did:
You'll need a pair of boots (check your local second hand stores for some cheap steals!), belts (I found mine here on Black Friday, but they are still very affordable), and a sturdy craft glue.
Begin by wrapping a belt around the boot, intertwining it as desired.
Wrap a second (+ third if you'd like!) belt around, intertwining it with the first one. Once you've positioned them in the desired place, use craft glue to secure them in place.
*Tips: Make sure the buckles are facing the same way.
If you need it tightened, use a crop-a-dile to punch a shorter buckle hole.
Be sure to leave a link if you plan to or already have created this project; I'd love to see.
I love these!!! What a brilliant idea.

ReplyDeleteKinsey, this is such a great idea! Simple, affordable, and maybe even giftable! Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to try this DIY! I will have to remeber it for the Aussie winter :)
ReplyDeletethis is my excuse to buy some boots. i MUST do this, like, NOW!
ReplyDeleteLove this DIY...especially because you can easily remove it (if you don't glue it) to have a plain boot :) and then just add it back on! I also like that you picked different brown tones.
ReplyDeleteSo cool!
