If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. Holidays require sparkle. And sparkle includes all forms of gold in my book. You may have noticed I'm not a glamorous person by any sort, but I think anyone has an excuse to add a touch of glitz to their winter wardrobe this time of year. I've got a plan to wear this piece sometime during our trip to Chicago this weekend. Here's how it's done:
Supplies: Gold paint, feathers, hair comb barrettes, heavy duty craft glue.
Pantry Supplies: Paint brush, scissors.
Begin by painting the tips of each feather gold. I used six feathers total. // Once they are dry, cut off the ends (I cut mine roughly 5 inches long), leaving one feather twice as long as the rest. The longer one will be placed on top of all the other ones. Glue them in place, having three feathers on each end, with the longest on the top so as to cover the ends of the other feathers. // Once they are dry, attach the barrettes to the back ends of each feather.
And yes, in case you were wondering, it definitely started snowing while taking these photos. I'm a happy gal right now.
Oh, it's perfect!

Cute idea! I wish the feathers would have kept their soft shape better once painted, though.
