Life has slowed down a little bit for us. With the cold weather, we have had a lot less shoots and weddings, which has been nice. We're trying to take this time to revisit old hobbies and passions, collect inspiration, and prepare for the upcoming months. Once March hits we'll be running full force, loaded with weddings, photo shoots, and lots and lots of traveling. I've always been one to anticipate the next step, but I'm really trying to live in the moment during this winter season. Valuing rest and working really hard at becoming more organized and purposeful in everything I do.
During our "off" season, I've been dressing comfy just about every day. My go to outfits have been a base of oversized sweaters and tights or leggings. Nothing better than feeling like you're in your pjs all day, right? But as much as I love being comfy, I still want to feel put together. The best way for me to still be able to get away with a comfy outfit without looking like I just rolled out of bed is adding accessories. Here I've added a scarf, bracelet, ring, wool socks, and studded boots. It looks a lot more complete without sacrificing the comfort aspect. I've also been addicted to the good ole sock bun. It's a great way to fix your hair fast, but has a put together look.
Do you have any styling secrets for dressing comfy and stylish?

One, can I just say how much I love your sweater dress. Being a Michigan girl at heart, that was my favorite before I moved to South Texas. Also, cheers for taking it slow. January is always hard to get through with the weather, but it is also a great time to recharge after the holidays.

I love your bun! How did you make it SO perfect? I can never get mine to look that good!
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely my favourite outfit of yours. I love the scarf because it's the perfect combination of season colors, and it looks so, so cozy. You definitely look comfortable, yet polished and put together, and the sock bun is a great hair choice!
ReplyDeleteKinsey, this is a slightly random comment, but could you do a post sometime about tricks for those with thin hair? I feel like you've mentioned yours being a bit on the thin side before, but I feel like your hair always looks SO beautiful and full. My go-to style is curling my hair with my straightener, but because it's thin, I feel like it just doesn't hold up well throughout the day. Any tips/tricks would be much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteLove the Comfy outfit! That dress reminds me of a grey sweater dress I haven't unpacked, I'm about to go dig it out.
ReplyDeleteThe winter is always such a great time to reflect and relax. I also dress up, dressed down looks. Xo Inna
