Monday involved nothing but exploring and good company. The photos above are from our drive through Arizona yesterday. Some of the places we stopped included Jerome, Sedona, and Flagstaff. Every bone in my body wants to move here. It's so breath-takingly beautiful and not to mention peaceful and reviving to the soul. Nature is by far my greatest inspiration. We are constantly surrounded by beauty, but it takes a keen eye to truly notice and appreciate it all. How does something so beautiful exist, yet so few of us take the time and effort to see it with our own eyes? There is just too much wonderful in the world to let is slip through our fingers.
We decided last night to take a spontaneous day trip to San Diego with some friends, so we're starting our venture bright and early. If you're from the area, we'd love some suggestions of your favorite spots to visit! We're planning on exploring the beach mostly, but we're open to anything really, so throw em' our way.
It is so beautiful!! Love it!
ReplyDeletebreathtaking! You're so talented!

ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! I'd be one happy girl with a view like that every day. :)

wow beautiful photos! x
ReplyDeletegorgeous. i now have a massive urge to roadtrip.
ReplyDeleteHillcrest in San Diego is a cute little area. You HAVE to go to Chocolat! They make their own wood fired pizzas, paninis and gelato! So yummy!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful out there! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThose photos are beautiful! I've never been to Arizona, but from the looks of it, it is a beautiful place! And road trip! I love road trips. I've never been on one where I can actually get out and explore though. I have to make sure I do that.
ReplyDeleteI love what said about taking the time to notice the beauty and nature around us. I always try and make an effort to notice what's around me, and your thoughts on it have made me make sure to take the time to do so, even more.
And San Diego! I used to live there when I was a kid, but I can't remember any places that were there! But I hope you have a great time!
My boyfriend and I went to Colorado last week for our Spring Break. It was such a refreshing change from Springfield with all of the open space and so many untouched places to explore. We are actually considering moving there next year with some friends because we fell in love with it so much. I also get most of my inspiration from nature...so how do you survive in Springfield? I've yet to find many naturally beautiful places. Any recommendations for us wild at heart explorers?

My home state! These photos are all so beautiful and make me miss it even more! <3
ReplyDeleteSedona was our favorite and if you can swing thru lake Havasu. The water there is gorgeous.

If your still in San Diego on Sunday, I recommend going to international cottages in Balboa Park. Each cottage represents a different country with memorabilia from that nation. And, they hand out samples of food from that country. I should tell you going for the food alone is worth it. Here's the website if you're interested: www.sdhpr.org
ReplyDeleteBelmont Park in Mission Bay is really fun to go to, but it might be crowded and a nightmare to find parking this time of year. If you can make it down there its a fun little boardwalk right along the beach with rides and fun stores. www.belmontpark.com
You should try going to Seaport Village, I think you'd love it there. It's a fun place near the water to walk around and enjoy the nice scenery and weather. www.sandiego.org/members/shopping/seaport-village.aspx
Love the photos. Road trips are my favorite!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful images!
ReplyDeleteI love gaining inspiration from nature!

I second the international cottages in Balboa Park! Also, if you're looking for a bit more of an adventure, I would head up into the mountains about an hour and a half northeast of San Diego. It's beautiful landscapes all the way through, and it's called "Palms to Pines" for a reason. Idyllwild, CA is the biggest town up there, and it's filled with art galleries and cute gift shops. Higher Grounds Coffee is the best coffee shop in the world. I spent every weekend there when I went to boarding school up there (they have an arts boarding school called Idyllwild Arts Academy). It's a great little day trip and it's absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I just got back from a visit to the San Diego area. We stayed in Del Mar, which is less than 30 minutes from SD. Torrey Pines in Del Mar has a fun hiking trail, and once you're at the top is the best spot ever to watch the sun set. Solana Beach is also a great Del Mar spot - a very clean, chill beach where you can watch surfers do their thing. In SD proper, Balboa Park (http://www.balboapark.org/) is beautiful, and really fun to explore. The zoo is expensive, so we opted out of that, but there are tons of cool free areas, including a cactus garden!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy when people appreciate the beauty of Arizona. I live in Flagstaff and I love it more than words.
ReplyDeleteMy husband wants to live in Flagstaff. If you want to see beautiful stop in Utah. (Park City, Zions, Arches). You name it. The most beautiful of God's creations. Better yet, stop by for some coffee and climbing. hahaha no, but really if I knew you were so close I would have had you take some family pictures. I wish I had a talent with the camera like you do. have fun.
ReplyDeleteaz has my heart too. I was born in mesa & it will forever be home.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! What an amazing place to be able to visit! Hope your day trip is a success!

Balboa park is great and worth a visit, but if you want to head to some great beaches go North about 25 minutes to Encinitas. Amazingly beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteMy parents just got a summer house in Arizona and I'm so excited about visiting, as soon as possible. I just bought the dress you inspried on ModCloth and I'm super excited about wearing it as soon as it warms up in Indiana. :)

breathtaking photos!
ReplyDeleteSD suggestions:
ReplyDeleteCoronado Island! You take a highway bridge to get to the area. It's a nice place to relax and walk around. It's a fancy resort area and has a lovely beach.
Extraordinary Desserts! (not far from Coronado) There is one in Downtown SD (savory & sweet menu) and at Balboa Park (only sweet items). Pretty desserts and yummy paninis.
I did a little blogpost when i went last May.

I went to Sedona a couple years ago (during a heat wave in the summer - scorching). It's so beautiful, isn't it?!
