When we first bought these chairs, they were a bright orange color. As much as I tried to convince myself that I liked the color, it just wasn't working for me. I started looking into solutions to change the color and really wasn't having much luck, much less finding something in my price range. I thought the only solution would be to completely reupholster them, but in that case I was better off buying new chairs altogether. So I decided to browse once more online, and that's when I found Rub N' Restore. Rub N' Restore is an online shop that provides high quality stains of all different shades for vinyls or leathers. When I first watched a YouTube video of theirs, I couldn't believe what I saw. I read all about their product on their website, and it all just sounded too good to be true. I emailed them back and forth (they are just the sweetest and answered all my silly questions) and found the perfect colors and size bottles for the project. When it came in the mail I couldn't wait try it out (I think a part of me was still skeptical). To make the color I was looking for, I combined Rust and Camel until I had the perfect tone for my chairs. To apply it, I used a paint brush, sponge, and wash cloth and decided that I liked the paint brush the most to apply it; and then once it was almost dry, rubbing it down with a cloth to prevent any brush streaks. This project was SO EASY. It took about 20 minutes to stain both chairs and another 15 minutes to apply the clear sealing coat. Vinyl furniture will never intimidate me ever again. I don't know how many times I've passed up a cute piece of furniture because it was the wrong color. Well, not anymore. This stuff, it's magic. And not only is it for furniture, but it can be used on purses, shoes, wallets, etc. The project list is endless.
If you have any vinyl or leather pieces that need an update, check out Rub N' Restore to find the perfect product for you. Trust me. You won't regret it.

Ooh, I wonder if they deliver to Australia? We are in the middle of renovating a beach cottage, and this certainly does appeal! Love your blog. Discovered it just last week! X
ReplyDeleteHi Kym,
DeleteLesandre with Rub 'n Restore here. We do ship to Australia, but the freight is outrageous--more than the products themselves. We have had several Australian customers who still found the freight cost was still radically less than replacement or reupholstery of their beloved pieces. One of these days we'll have a distributor on your end of the Pacific. Until then you can read all about shipping on the website: www.rubnrestore.com. Thank you!
Oh wow this looks great!
