“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
- Mark Twain
This has been a popular topic amongst my friend and even a few acquaintances lately. If you're passionate about something, do it. Go for it. Reach it. Live it. Your life is here one day and gone the next. Don't regret not making the most wild, audacious, daring, adventurous memories of your life because the fear of what if's got in the way. I'd have to say my biggest regrets are during the seasons I let the business of life rob me of what existence is all about. Stop thinking so much and just say yes to the adventures life throws at you.

I am loving your outfit in this pictures! And I'd give anything for hair like yours. But I also love the quote and I wish I would follow my own dreams more instead of listening to all the voices around me. Thanks for reminding me to dream big and to follow my desires (or those little adventures that pop up time and again).
ReplyDeletei try to live my life that way - it's always the chances that you don't take that you end up regretting, right?

ReplyDeleteYes, it's very sheer. I had a beige bandeau underneath!
DeleteGreat quote and fab pics! :-)

That skirt looks gorgeous on you! I needed that quote so badly today. I'm leaving for study abroad in 17 days and have been really nervous today for some reason! But Mark is a wise man and has never lead me astray. Sometimes the best things in life come from leaving your safe harbor.

I love these pictures (as always), but your words are what I can really relate too! My dad inspired the same advice to me in high school during my sophomore year when I was seriously considering quitting softball. Now that I'm in college I'm so glad I stuck with it. I have no regrets and really miss it. Plus, I only strengthened my friendships.
ReplyDeleteI have been photographing people for a while, and I am in the process of starting up a blog. I just wanted to thank you for always posting such encouraging and fresh content. It has been inspirational to me!

Such a great post. And I'm loving your skirt. Amazing. August is definitely a time to start new things. Maybe it's the change of the seasons that make August into September such an inspiring time! :)

Beautiful. I've been planning a trip to the Grand Canyon soon. I don't really have the money, but this sorta thing gives me encouragement. You can't take money with you.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with this, and it's been on my mind lately a lot. The past year and a half have really held a lot of changes for me and really made me think about my life and what I'm doing with it. I regret so many things already and it's mostly the things I didn't do. So I'm trying not to make those same mistakes again.
