I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about these photos makes me emotional. While we were in Albuquerque a few weeks ago, we took a tram to the top of Sandia Peak. Right before we took these, we thought we were done taking photos for the evening and planned to take the tram back down the mountain. The sun was almost completely gone, and as we walked back through the trails, the city started to come alive. The silhouettes of the travelers seemed to dance along the edge of the hill overlooking the city, and I knew I had to capture it. I wish I had some deep, thoughtful reason as to why looking at these photos make me feel the way I do, but I don't. They just make me feel a whole lot of something. If I never have an answer as to why, I think I can be okay with that.
You can see the first post from Sandia Peak here.
Oh wow, that is beautiful. I've always loved silhouettes, and these are absolutely incredible. I can see why you love them so much.
ReplyDeleteThey are just amazing..
ReplyDeleteGoodness these are so beautiful, and there does not have to be a concrete "reason" for your emotions, the pure beauty behind them is enough. I love the shooting star (or more likely a plane, but lets pretend) in the second, so whimsical. Absolutely stunning post, I love it! Also, are these edited with VSCO?
