Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
10 drops vanilla essential oil
Heat oil over the stove in a small pan. While the oil is melting, begin mixing together all of the other ingredients in a small bowl. Once the oil is completely melted, add it into the mix as well. Store in a small, sealable container.
To use, apply a small handful and massage vigorously while showering. Try using a warm, vanilla scented body cream afterwards for a mini, holiday, self-spa treatment!
**This recipe contains cinnamon, which can cause irritation if you have sensitive skin and/or are allergic to cinnamon. If you're unsure of how your skin will react, test it first on a smaller area.

Oh this looks so yummy. I made a pumpkin spice lip scrub in October but a gingerbread one looks even more appealing.

This scrub seems lovely on its own, but I think that if you want to give it a real "gingerbread" scent, it would help to incorporate ginger and (maybe?) molasses.
ReplyDeleteI love a good homemade scrub! This will be a perfect thing to use this season and even gift to a few close friends!
ReplyDeleteAny suggestions if our skin hates coconut oil?
