Intel Tablet Case DIY

Today I'm partnering with Intel Tablet with a tablet case DIY! Having a ThinkPad Tablet has been a total business changer for me, and I don't know how I functioned without one all these years. I can bring it along to client and booking meetings, go over all the details of their wedding or photo shoot, sign contracts, show my portfolio and so much more. Whether you're a student, independent business owner, or just an internet junkie, an Intel Tablet might be right for you. One of my favorite parts of this tablet is the size and portability. The entire tablet is a touch screen, making use of every bit of the device without taking up extra space or weight. It also has the option to connect a keyboard, which turns it into a small laptop; great for writing out emails or blog posts! I wanted to create a customized case for my tablet so I could take it with me on the go, even fitting it into my purse or camera bag! Here's how I did it:

Pantry Supplies: Scissors, sharpie, sewing machine.

You will need the following cut outs:
1. One large canvas, one inch wider than the perimeter of the device you're making the case for. Mine
     was 13x9 inches.
2. One large piece of fabric, used for the inside of the case, one inch wider than the perimeter of the      
    device you're making the case for. Mine was 13x9 inches.
3. One piece of 8x10 in canvas fabric.
4. One piece of leather for the flap; mine was 13 inches wide and various in length.
5. Mismatched pieces of scrap fabric.
6. 12x8 piece of quilting padding.
7. leather cord, 2-3 ft. long.

1. Begin by choosing a silhouette you'd like to have on the back of the case. I chose a grizzly bear. You can find lots of free clip art templates on Google images. Just Google the type of silhouette you'd like to make and print it off! (Make sure you're not taking someone's art work without their permission!)
2.  Cut out the middle of the silhouette, and trace the pattern onto the 8x10 canvas print. I traced it with a Sharpie so that the trace would show through on the back side of the fabric.
3. Then, take the squares of mismatched fabrics, and attach them with the fabric glue to cover the entire tracing.
4. Once the glue has dried, flip the fabric over, and stitch along the tracing of the silhouette with a zig zag stitch.
5. After you've stitched the outline of the silhouette, cut out along the stitched line. Next, flip it over and stitch down all of the loose fabric pieces.
6. Then, take the large canvas piece (13x9), and stitch the silhouette to the back, right side of the canvas.
7. Next, take the other large piece of fabric (13x9), and with both piece's right sides facing inward, stitch the bag together on three sides, leaving the top open.
 8. Flip it right side out, and insert the quilting padding.
9. Then, attach the leather flap by folding the hems inward and placing the leather in between the two sides of the bag, stitching it closed.
10. Next, fold the bag in half, and sew both sides together creating the finished product. Lastly, attach the leather cord to the end of the flap. Wrap the cord around the bag to secure your device in its case.
