Sometimes you just need to sit down at your sewing machine and give something a little makeover.
This project is easy as pie. Simply cut out fabric patches, and pin them in various places throughout the sweater. You can top stitch them for a messy look, or you can sew them with the hems facing inward for a cleaner look. I did both styles on my sweater. Sew them in place (I did the zig zag stitch to prevent the knit from any fraying) and once they're attached, cut out the back of the knit sweater, leaving see-through patches throughout.
Push yourself this weekend to try something new, revamp something you already have, or make start a whole new project from scratch. Happy weekend, friends!

ReplyDeletethat looks very cool! was the pattern at the lower left side also a patch of fabric or?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! If only I could still be home to use my mom's sewing machine, but now I'm off on my own living out of suitcases. Your hair is perfect by the way! It makes me miss my long hair.

I'd always thought of investing in a sewing machine but I have no idea how to use one and I'm terrified of ruining my clothes. Wonderful job! x
