I'm on the verge of driving everyone I know up the wall with recent talk of cutting my hair. I've debated the cut for a few months, but I haven't summed up the courage to go for the chop. So instead, I've come up with this tutorial to create a faux cut to satisfy my craving.
Begin by styling your hair as normal.
Divide your hair into two sections, top and bottom.
In small sections, twist and pin loops onto your scalp to make the length of your hair short. The smaller the sections, the thicker your hair will look.
Repeat this step with the top section, pinning small loops evenly on your head.
Lastly, cover the pins with a hat.
Not only does this give me a chance to add a bit of versatility to my style, but I can still hold onto my long locks.
So cute! If I hadn't just cut my hair, would have totally used this tutorial. <3

It looks so cute either way! My hair used to be long like that and I couldn't stand washing it and it always being in my way. I cut it and liked it for a day and now I want my long hair back ... it's a cycle! ha
ReplyDeleteI took the plunge not too long ago to cut my long hair into a stylish bob. I love it! I say #yolo and do it :)
ReplyDeleteu look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! My hair is super long & I've debated chopping it all off, but I think I'll try this first. Thanks for sharing! x

Love this idea! I am right with you on wanting to cut your hair but not actually going through with it so this is perfect! I did a faux bob tutorial a while back that I love for a little change too :)

This is why I love the versatility of long hair! I would never want to shorten it up permanently, but I will definitely try this out.

Haha I love this post because I can relate to it so much!! I just recently chopped off my hair and am pretty sure I obsessed to my friends about it for weeks beforehand and waffled all over the place about the color and the length:).
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and have recently started my own, so I'd be delighted if you would check it out!

Love this idea! My hair is not quite as long as your's, but I still think I could do this to fake a short 'do. And I totally think you should go for the chop. A new haircut is always so much fun, plus it can grow back out anyway. :)

Great tutorial - I have been debating on a near daily basis about chopping my hair - perhaps this will help calm that!
ReplyDeleteLove that top - where is it from?
Thank you! It's vintage! :)
DeleteSuper sneaky! I'd had short hair for a long time, but it's finally grown out! It might be fun to freak people out by giving this a try!
